Why Community Night exists

You are not alone in following Jesus.

Many youth groups across Sydney are small, and young Christians can sometimes feel isolated in their faith. Community Night exists to help students see that they are part of something bigger — the family of God.

By gathering youth from different churches and denominations, the night creates space for students to hear God’s word, worship together, meet other believers, and build friendships that can continue beyond one event.

Core purpose

A night of Bible teaching, worship, games, discussion, and fellowship — designed to strengthen faith and friendship among high school Christians across Sydney.

2026 theme

Rhythms of the Heart

The Disciplines of a Follower of Christ. In the busyness of life, it can be easy for our hearts to drift away from God. This year we’ll explore rhythms that draw us closer to Him.

01

Prayer

Bringing our hearts honestly before God and learning daily dependence on Him.

02

Scripture

Hearing and responding to God’s Word so our lives are shaped by truth.

03

Fellowship

Encouraging one another as believers and building Christ-centred friendships.

04

Trust

Resting in God’s promises and walking faithfully with Him in every season.

What to expect

A night that is fun, welcoming, and spiritually encouraging.

Community Night is intentionally simple: gather students, open God’s Word, sing together, create meaningful discussion, and give space for real connection.

Interactive games Icebreakers and activities that help students meet people from other churches.
Worship through music Singing together as one gathered body of believers.
Bible teaching A theme-focused talk that points youth to Christ and God’s Word.
Small group discussion Time to reflect, talk honestly, and build genuine friendships.

For youth leaders and churches

Bring your youth group into something shared.

Community Night works best when youth groups partner together. Churches may help with games, music, discussion groups, welcoming, registration, and event logistics.

The goal is not to replace local church ministry, but to support and strengthen what churches are already doing by helping youth experience the wider family of Christ.
