What leaders should prepare.

This page is designed to help each youth group arrive ready, supervised, and clear on child-safety expectations.

01

Confirm tickets

Make sure every student and adult attending has a $10 ticket, or that your group has a clear ticketing plan.

02

Parent permissions

Each church or youth group should organise its own parent permissions, emergency contacts, medical notes, and leader-to-youth supervision arrangements.

03

Transport plan

Confirm drop-off, pick-up, carpooling, and who is responsible for accounting for your youth before and after the event.

04

Brief your leaders

Make sure attending leaders know the evening flow, their group responsibilities, and the child-safety expectations below.

05

Discussion groups

Be ready to help facilitate conversation, encourage quieter students, and keep youth connected with their group.

06

Arrival from 6:00pm

Plan to arrive in time for registration and check-in so the official program can begin smoothly.

Child safety

Leader expectations on the night.

Community Night is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child in its care. Leaders and volunteers should read the child-safety documents and follow the expectations outlined below.

These notes are a public summary only. Confirmed leaders should read the full documents and follow instructions from the Community Night team on the night.

Core reminders

Supervision: Youth should remain with their own group leaders and be accounted for throughout the evening.

Transport: Best practice is two adults travelling with children. If a child is alone with an adult in a car, they should sit in the back seat.

Online contact: Do not communicate privately with children online or on social media.

Photos: Do not take or share photos of children on personal devices unless permission has been given.

Boundaries: Maintain healthy physical boundaries and keep physical contact to a minimum.

Incidents: Injuries should be reported to the first aid officer on duty and handled in a safe space within sight of other adults.

Documents
